Matilda Tan
Managing Director and Founding Partner
Ms. Tan is a banking executive with over 30 years of experience spanning corporate finance, capital markets, venture capital, and asset management. She has held senior banking positions with leading international institutions, including Nikko Merchant Bank (Singapore), Salomon Brothers (Hong Kong), and N M Rothschild & Sons (Jakarta and Singapore).
As Founding Partner of Genesis Strategic Capital Pte. Ltd., she provides strategic leadership across the firm’s business development, governance, and long-term growth. She has been instrumental in establishing and growing the firm’s investment platform, fostering institutional partnerships, and expanding its fund management capabilities.
She was also a founding director of Aventures 1 Pte. Ltd., an early-stage venture capital fund backed by TIF Ventures, the venture investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and ASEAN Finance Corporation (AFC Merchant Bank). The fund successfully invested in the growth of emerging companies in China and the region.
In addition, Ms. Tan served on the Investment Committee of a healthcare-focused private equity fund backed by Shanghai-listed Jiuzhou Pharmaceutical, contributing to the evaluation and oversight of investment opportunities. Throughout her career, she has built extensive expertise advising corporations, financial institutions, and investors across Asia on capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, investment management, and strategic business development.
Ms. Tan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of San Francisco, USA, and an MBA from IMD Business School, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Felix Sutiono
Executive Director and Partner
Felix serves on the Investment Committee, contributing to the evaluation of investment opportunities and overseeing the execution of investment transactions across the firm’s alternative investment platform. He also leads the firm’s investment governance, institutional development, and risk management initiatives, strengthening the governance architecture that supports disciplined investment decision-making and sustainable long-term value creation.
He brings more than 20 years of experience in global financial markets, specialising in Rates, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income and Credit derivatives. His expertise spans portfolio optimisation, capital efficiency, electronic execution, trade lifecycle management, and institutional risk management across major financial centres including Singapore, Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Prior to joining Genesis Strategic Capital, Felix held senior leadership positions at Standard Chartered, Nomura and Morgan Stanley, where he led numerous strategic transformation initiatives. These included establishing a joint venture to expand financial markets solutions for ultra-high-net-worth clients, leading a G10 Rates portfolio optimisation programme that delivered approximately USD 1.6 billion in capital savings, and driving the transition of LIBOR-linked products to alternative risk-free benchmarks across global markets.
Beyond his technical expertise, Felix has a proven ability to translate strategic vision into institutional execution by strengthening governance frameworks, designing scalable operating models and enhancing organisational effectiveness across complex global financial institutions. This combination of investment expertise, institutional leadership and governance complements Genesis’ disciplined investment approach and strengthens the firm’s ability to create enduring value for its investors.
As a certified Human-Centered Design Practitioner, he also brings a client-centric approach to strategic problem solving, ensuring that innovation remains aligned with investor needs and sustainable business outcomes.
Felix holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Economics) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Commerce (Finance) from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is also a licensed Capital Markets Services Representative regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Guo Meiling
Operations and Compliance Manager
Ms. Meiling Guo oversees fund operations and regulatory compliance at Genesis Strategic Capital. She plays a key role in managing investor onboarding, KYC/AML processes, fund administration, and investor reporting, while coordinating closely with banks, brokers, fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel. She also supports the firm’s regulatory obligations with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), including the preparation and submission of the annual Asset Management Survey, quarterly financial returns, QIE statements, fund AUM reporting, and responses to ad hoc regulatory surveys and information requests, helping to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and operational best practices.
Prior to joining Genesis Strategic Capital, Ms. Guo was a Research Analyst at the Asia Competitiveness Institute, where she focused on macroeconomic and policy research relating to China, contributing to economic analysis and research publications.
Ms. Guo holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Peking University, and a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
